Program Details
The Master of Information Technology degree program at Virginia Tech consists of 11 courses offered jointly by the school’s Pamplin College of Business and the College of Engineering. Students have the option to specialize in one of 11 areas, such as Big Data.
Students begin their online IT degree by taking core courses in subject areas including information systems design and database concepts, web-based applications and electronic commerce, object-oriented programming with Java, software engineering, computer systems, and strategic leadership. The curriculum of this online data science degree then allows students to focus on their area of concentration with electives covering topics such as machine learning with big data and social media analytics.
