This 100% online AA in Liberal Arts at Tidewater gives you the chance to improve your critical thinking, creativity and communication skills.  You’ll be prepared for a career in the arts, education, or business after transferring to a 4-year university and earning your bachelor’s degree.  With the flexibility of distance-learning, you can complete this two year program without ever having to step foot on campus.

TCC’s online AS in General Studies is the broadest ranging curriculum offered by the school.  There are essentially two pathways you can take.  First, you can prepare for transfer to a 4-year university as a junior, majoring in science, technology, engineering or math.  Or, secondly, you can specialize in Professional Communication if you intend to use this online degree to enhance your career opportunities.  Note that if you choose to focus in communication, you will be required to participate in an internship.

TCC offers the online AAS in Accounting. This degree provides students with a strong foundation in accounting and business, along with general education requirements, enabling students to seek entry-level employment
in accounting. In addition, the course work prepares students for certification exams. Graduates may seek employment as a bookkeeper or as an accounting or auditing clerk.

TCC offers the online AAS in Management. This degree offers broad theoretical and practical perspectives that include accounting, marketing, business law, statistics, economics, and human resource management. It is designed for those interested in entering or advancing in business and industry as supervisor trainees, managers, department heads, or administrative assistants.

TCC offers the online Certificate in Accounting Specialist. This accounting program prepare students for careers in the accounting field or assist students in updating their skills if they are working in the accounting field. Graduates may seek employment as a bookkeeper or as an accounting or auditing clerk. 

The certificate program provides course work that gives students the skills to sit for one or more certification exams administered by the Accreditation Council for Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT).

If you have an interest in serving your community and would like to begin a career in law enforcement, consider the Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice offered 100% online by Tidewater Community College. This flexible learning degree is taught by faculty with successful careers in all aspects of law enforcement, from state troopers to attorneys. Generally, classes include:
