Program Details

The Master of Arts in Counseling is an online counseling degree program with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health from Palo Alto University.  This program can lead to licensure in many states and is dedicated to developing highly effective mental health counselors, future leaders, and innovators in the counseling profession.  The curriculum focuses on developing skills in four areas:

  • Assessment
  • Intervention/Counseling
  • Research with Critical Thinking
  • Ethics Within Professional Practice

Students learn to benefit society and reduce human suffering by promoting mental health, wellness, social justice, education, and vocational well-being.  Graduates are prepared for a variety of careers, such as mental health counseling, private practice, addiction counseling, school-based counseling, career and guidance counseling, community-based agency practice and management, and rehabilitation counseling.
