School Details

Northwestern College Iowa is a Christian college in the Reformed tradition.  After considerable economic hardship, the Dutch Reformed community of Orange City, led by Reverands Seine Bolks and Henry Hospers, incorporated the Northwestern Classical Academy in 1882 with the motto “Deus est lux” (God is light). The constitution called for establishing an institution of learning “for the promotion of science and literature in harmony with, and religion as expressed in, the doctrinal standards of the Reformed Church in America.”  Adhering to its original mission of providing a Christ-centered education and still strongly connected to the Reformed Church in America, Northwestern has achieved recognition as a high-quality, genuinely Christian, liberal arts college.

Northwestern College offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and certificates in liberal arts subjects. Several degrees and endorsements are available in fully online formats, including the majority of master’s degrees. Northwestern online degrees are flexible and offer nationally-recognized affordability. These programs not only further your career, but they also fit the rest of your life, setting you on a path to success.
