School Details

Founded in 1967, Montgomery Community College began as Montgomery Technical Institute. The institution’s first students were graduated in June 1969. Montgomery Technical Institute became Montgomery Technical College in 1983 in accordance with legislative and board approval, and in September 1987, the Board of Trustees and Montgomery County Commissioners voted for the name to be officially changed to Montgomery Community College.

Montgomery Community College provides certificates, diplomas, associate degrees, short-term job training, high school, and pre-college programs. Montgomery Community College offers distance education opportunities in both curriculum and continuing education programs through the use of the North Carolina Information Highway and Internet online courses. There are many online academic resources for students, including assistance with virtual classes. Montgomery Community College is committed to making programs accessible to all citizens.
