Bluefield State University’s mission is public school committed to providing affordable and accessible higher education. One of the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the college was founded for African American children of coal miners in the region.
Today, Bluefield aspires to assist students from all walks of life achieve their professional goals. With a low student to faculty ratio and small class sizes, each student is provided with the support they need to succeed. Instructional programs are offered in a variety of fields, including STEM, business, arts and sciences, and health science professions.
