About the Author
With over 24 years’ experience, Tony Huffman is a pioneer in the online post-secondary and adult education industry.
Starting his professional life after graduating from James Madison University, he worked in Richmond VA as a financial accountant for a Fortune 500 organization. He joined Audible in 1998 and held roles in business development and marketing. He worked with device manufacturers such as Compaq, HP, Casio, and others to integrate Audible Ready technology into their operating systems.
As part of a small team, he developed the Audible subscription model and was with the organization during its IPO in 1999. During this time he worked closely with Microsoft, an early investor in Audible; to make their “Drive Time” corporate training information accessible through Audible’s secure digital format for the global distribution of highly sensitive information. It was this work that started Tony on his path in education.
Following Audible, Tony held executive roles for a growing education recruiting organization where he was the face of the organization to partner colleges and universities. He later started Perdia Education and was the co-creator of Emma™ a revolutionary mobile enrollment platform. He has a passion for post-secondary, and continuing adult education and works closely with universities and businesses. His background in finance and accounting helps Tony provide important insight into GetEducated.com’s “Best Buy” degree ranking reports.
He helped start the Highland County Humane Society with other dedicated animal lovers and lives in Monterey, VA with his wife, daughter, and many foster animals.
