Help elementary school children build a foundation for success in math with a specialization in Mathematics (Grades K–6; Non-Licensure). Designed for elementary school math teachers, this specialization can help you develop more effective mathematics teaching practices so you can excite young learners. Explore new strategies and techniques for introducing students to the mathematical skills and concepts they will need in high school, college, and beyond, including measurement, data, geometric thinking, understanding rational numbers, and proportional reasoning. Courses in this specialization are aligned with the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics as well as the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics’ Principles and Standards for School Mathematics.
